NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil Review

Today I'm doing a short review on the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 604 Milk. I bought this product a couple of weeks ago from Amazon for £6.99.

I bought this product because I wanted a creamy eye shadow that I can use as a base and also i chose the white shade as it makes colour eye shadows stand out more. I saw great reviews for this product so I decided to try it out myself.

The consistency is very creamy and has a soft texture so it slides on the eyelids well. The colour pay off is great and you can also add more to have an intense white eye shadow.

I will definitely be buying more of these eye shadows as I feel they are really worth the money and good quality.

I love the packaging of them as you can see the colour through the transparent lid and I like that it is in a pencil form as they are handy to put in your make-up bag. This will definitely be my first of many purchases.

My Everyday Makeup Products

These are the makeup products I use every day. Well truly I don't wear makeup every day because some days I don't go anywhere and sometimes I'm just with friends. But this is the makeup I reach to when just going out to do nothing special. Then again the makeup I use doesn't change much to what I do when I go out for a party or special occasions but I guess I just use more product then. I'm just going to start off with showing you the products I use and then maybe on another blog post I will say how I use it and what with.

The foundation I use is the L'OrĂ©al Paris True Match Foundation in the shade D1-W1 Golden Ivory. I chose this foundation because of the big range of skin shades they have, I seem to have gotten paler as I got older so I've had to go down a few shades in foundation over time. It is a medium coverage I think which is good as you can layer the foundation and it won’t look so visible on your skin. It also has a sort of runny consistency which makes it super bendable and easy to work with.

I concealer I use is Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in the shade Fair 1. I've been using this for years, even before I started using foundation. It has lots of coverage and it can be used on blemishes and under eye’s which I love. I use a light shade, one because I'm pale anyway and two because I won’t to highlight under my eyes.

For my powder I use the Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder in the shade 001 Transparent. I use this shade because it is transparent so is doesn't add any colour to your skin or foundation so you never have to worry about whether it has made your face look lighter or darker. I like this powder because I do have oily skin and I can get pretty shiny throughout the day so this is a life saver. I also like the look of matte skin, nails and lips so wearing this helps to achieve that.

For contouring I use the Sleek Makeup Face Form Contouring and Blush Palette in Light 373. It comes with one warm matte brown, a shimmery highlighter and a shimmer inky coral blush. I don’t use the blush very often as I feel blush makes my face look odd, some people just don’t suit it! I only use a little bit of highlighter on the top of my cheekbones and on my eyebrow bone, I use more when I go out but a little is perfect to just add a little shine to your cheeks. I use the contour shade everyday as my face can look a little chubby without it. I don’t do a full contour every day, I just add a little under my cheekbones by doing the pouty face and I’m done. Also having a mirror in the palette is handy and I can use that instead of adding another mirror to my makeup bag.

For bronzer I use the Rimmel London Natural Bronzer in the shade 022 Sun Bronze. I use this just to add a little colour to my face and I guess I use it instead of blush. The colour is a matte shade but sometimes you can see a little shimmer in there, but barley any. I love matte for everyday because it looks a lot more natural on the face.

For eyebrows I use two products the first is two eye shadow colours from the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette which are Naked 2 and Faint. I mix them together as my eyebrow colour is somewhere in between them too. I fill in my whole eyebrow with the mix of these two and then I use the second product to shape them. The second product is the Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint & Precision Shaping Pencil in the colour Brownie Points. One side it is in a pencil waxy form and the other is like a pen eyeliner but for eyebrows. I don’t tend to use the pencil side that often. I use the pen side to shape them, do the arch and fill in any sparse area’s I have. Everybody goes through that stage where you over pluck your eyebrows and I think I’m still paying for mine as in some places I don’t grow much eyebrow hair.

For eyeliner I use the Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl Waterproof Eyeliner in my waterline and tightline. I love this eyeliner as it can be used for so many different eyeliner looks and it also smudges easily. As to the waterproof part, I have cried a few times wearing this eyeliner and it hasn't budged but I wouldn't advice rubbing your eyes because then it will. The second product I use is Soap & Glory Supercat Liquid Black Eyeliner Pen in the colour Black. I use this for my cat eye as it glides on really well and I feel that a pen does a better job than any other time of liner. It gives you a crisp line and you can do your cat eye very quickly with this liner.

For mascara I use Maybelline New York the Falsies Volume Express in the colour Black Drama. I use this on the top lashes. I have always had a problem with my top lashes, they never used to curl whatsoever and because I have very long eyelashes this was always a problem for me. Since I started using this mascara my eye lashes now curl and they don’t look odd any more, which is great! I definitely love this mascara as I don’t feel like its clumpy and it glides on well. On the bottom lashes I use the Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara in the colour 301 Black. I use this on my bottom lashes as I don’t like when my bottom lashes curl so I use this to make them longer and I feel like they work well together. Sometimes the brush has a lot of product on but I just wipe the excess off onto the tube so I don’t waste any.

For those of you who are wondering why there are no lip products there it because I rarely use any, all that I use is the Maybelline New York Baby Lips. I use the Intense Care one in the yellow tube with orange writing. I didn't add it to my makeup products as I believe that it is more or a lip balm than anything else and it doesn't have any colour to it. Although it makes my lips soft and it’s not too shiny when on my lips. It is also easy to take around with you. I do like the other shades but I get most wear out of this one.

P.s sorry it's late

Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette

P.S Yes I know I still have my mirror sticker on (I can't bring myself to take it off)

Going to do a quick review on the Naked 2 - Urban Decay Palette. I definitely like the packaging of this palette, I think it looks really professional and it keeps everything together. It comes with a double ended shadow and blending brush from urban decay which is very nice and soft to use of the eyes, also for a plus it is cruelty free. The best thing is the colour pay off from the 12 different eye shadows, all of them are wearable and good colours. I bought this off Amazon about a year ago and I can't remember the price I bought it at either. Now it retails at about £37 in the UK and you can get it from the Urban Decay website, Feel Unique, House of Frazer and many more.

The first four eye shadows in the palette are:
Foxy - Cream Bisque Matte
Half Baked - Golden Bronze Shimmer
Bootycall - Cork Shimmer
Chopper - Copper Shimmer with Micro-Glitter

The middle four eye shadows in the palette are:
Tease - Creamy Pale Brown Matte
Snakebitte: Dark bronze Shimmer
Suspect: Pale Golden Beige Shimmer
Pistol: Light Grayish Brown Shimmer

The last four eye shadows in the palette are:
Verve - Oyster Shimmer
YDK - Cool Bronze Shimmer
Busted - Deep Brown Shimmer
Blackout - Blackest Black Matte

Zazzle iPhone Case Review

Today I’m reviewing the Zazzle phone cases that I have from http://www.zazzle.co.uk/.

I have the iPhone 5s in Silver. I first heard of Zazzle cases while I was searching for a case to buy for my new iPhone, well I should say future iPhone. I pre ordered the new iPhone before it first came out last year. I ordered my phone cases one I’d ordered my iphone and they say that the delivery time is 5-12 Business Days after Manufacturing. I’m pretty sure mine took a lot longer than that, but I didn’t mind as the iPhone still wasn’t out yet and also because I am from the UK and most of the cases are made in the US I expected it to take longer.

I ordered two phone cases to start with as one was for straight away and the second would be for Christmas. After I ordered them I was sceptical as to why I ordered two at the same time as I didn’t know what it would look like on my phone but after I received the phone cases I was very happy. It was so long ago now that I don’t actually remember what it arrived in. All of my phone cases are in the style vibe, which comes at an extra cost of £5. I’m glad I got the vibe case as it comes with the actual base of the case and this rubber surrounding which I think it so much better as it doesn’t scratch the edges of the phone and it is also really easy to get on and off of the phone. The case is quite hard and sturdy which makes you feel like your phone is more protective. It has a smooth covering which makes is nice to hold. The cases rubber edge is a bit thicker than the phone, so it actually comes round the front of the phone more, which in my view it is actually a good thing as if you drop your phone the screen side down, the rubber actually stops the screen from touching the floor. Making it easier to not get cracks. I have always used the Zazzle cases since I bought an iPhone and have never been around without one because I can be very clumsy! I've had my iPhone for a year now and I still have no cracks or scratches, fingers crossed, touch wood, whatever the other ones are. I have also had two of my cases for a year and neither of them have been damaged in anyway. The colour hasn't faded from the case and hasn't worn in any places. Although I would advice to clean the inside of the case regularly to get rid of germs. I think the variety of different patterns and styles you can get on Zazzle are amazing, you can get all sorts of cases for iPhone's, iPad's and all the different types of them too. Not even just cases they do, they do lots of different clothes to, with all different designers with their own style. The shipping was also £5.13 for no tracking to the UK, which is quite cheap as some US stores can charge a ridiculous amount, which mostly puts me off. Altogether I am very impressed and pleased with my 3 phone cases and definitely will have future money splurging there.

25 Beauty and Fashion Tips and Tricks

1.       Use a under eye concealer a couple of shades lighter than your skin colour to brighten up your under eye bags.
2.       Apply concealer in diagonal swipes instead of blobs as it lifts up the under eye bags better.
3.       Use bright or shimmer eye shadows in the corner of your eyes to make your eyes look more bright and awake.
4.       Add white eye liner or white cream shadow on the eye lid before adding other eye shadow to make the colour stand out more, cream shadow also can replace a primer.
5.       When you break a lipstick, put it back in the tube, smooth the broken bits together and leave in the fridge.
6.       If you want your lipstick to last longer, fill in your whole lips with lip liner, then add lipstick, blot your lipstick with tissue, add powder to the lips and then add another layer of lipstick.
7.       When putting on mascara, swipe the brush towards inwards rather than swiping towards your ear.
8.       Make a mess painting your nails, then have a bath or shower and the paint will come off your skin leaving the whole nail covered with paint.
9.       Keep nail varnish in the fridge as it stops the nail varnish going gloopy and it applies smoother.
10.   Add glitter nail varnish over chipped nails as it distracts away from that.
11.   To not get lipstick on your teeth, but your thumb in your mouth and clothes you lips around it (as if to suck your thumb) then slowly pull out the thumb, and you will be left with a ring of lipstick, if you do this a couple of times a day, it stops lipstick coming off on your teeth.
12.   If you don’t want to by a nail dotter for nail art then you can just use the round side of a bobby pin.
13.   If you have oily skin, apply an oil (rosemary etc.) to your face at night to balance out the oils and minimises pores.
14.   Put a bit of hairspray on your fingers and wipe on your eyebrows to keep the hairs in place.
15.   Use clear mascara to keep your eyebrow hair in the same place.
16.   If you find plucking your eyebrows painful put your tweezers in the freezer before plucking to reduce the pain.
17.   If you don’t want to buy spot preventing creams or wash, just wash your face with warm water every day or after eating greasy foods to help prevent spots.
18.   To remove blackheads make a mixture of a teaspoon of pudding and a teaspoon of milk and microwave it for 15 seconds then spread on your skin. Let it dry until it’s hard and then peel off.
19.   To save money wash your brushes with baby shampoo rather than expensive brush cleaner.
20.   If you have run out of dry shampoo, add a little talcum powder to your scalp and massage it in.
21.   Spray a tooth brush that you don’t use with hairspray to brush back any pesky baby hairs you have.
22.   To get no heat curls, braid your hair wet and sleep over night with them in, when undone you will have curls. Change your braids size to the curl size you want to receive.
23.   When you run out of shaving foam/cream use hair conditioner.
24.   Use unscented moisturiser under your perfume to make it last longer.
25.   Spray hair spray on your tights to help stop laddering or spray on already laddered tights to stop them spreading further.

Introduction

Hello,

Just a quick introduction on this blog. I am booreviewx or B. I am a teenage girl who enjoys, films, books, music, fashion, makeup, gaming and baking.

I'm just going to start off with saying that I do actually have another blog but sadly I deleted my google + page, youtube, email and everything that could actually help me get into my old blog. I started it in January when i had a lot of spare time due to not going to sixth form but then I got a small 6 week course. Which took up a lot of my free time, so I stopped. Everything was getting a little too difficult to handle so I stopped under pressure. I finished my course ages ago but never thought about re starting my blog again. A couple of days ago I just thought, I did used to like what I was writing about, so why don't I start again. I was going to restart my old blog and just continue from then on, starting with a blog post 'I'M BACK' but after a few hours of trying I realised it would be almost impossible for me to get into my old blog so I started fresh.

That resulted in me not thinking about it for months. Now that I wanted to get it back up and running again I had come to the realisation that I'd deleted my email so now I can't even get into my other blog. Which is a shame because I'd done a blog post over there which I actually really liked and spent a lot of time on. I might just re upload the blog post on this blog soon, as you can’t really steal your own post can you?

I names this blog booreview and my nickname is Boo and I actually have a lot of strong opinions on things I watch or see. I thought, what is the use of keeping all these opinions in my head when I can write them down? Now in no way shape or form will I say anything other than what I’m thinking, everything will come out as I’m thinking it. Which may cause confusion because not everybody should write down exactly what they’re thinking, but I say it out loud usually so what is the difference. This blog will be quite chatty and informal. Just my thoughts about things. It will also not really be a specific type of blog, I may just call it lifestyle as that includes mostly everything doesn’t it?

I’m also awful at spelling and grammar so I will be relying on spell check for that. Then again, when you leave school you tend to forget everything and end up back where you started. Although I didn’t have much knowledge in English anyway. I did get a D after all, not saying that’s bad or anything as that was actually my average grade in my GSCE’s, oops.

While I’m getting started I’m going to try and get up blog posts everyday but no promises. Anyway I think that’s all for now.
